Captain Jack

I'm a terrible person and didn't do a study yesterday - it was a rather busy day and by the time I remembered I hadn't done one, I was about to go to sleep. I hope to do two today in order to make up for it.
Here's John Barrowman who plays Captain Jack Harkness in Dr. Who:

I stopped working on this one after an hour and 20min, though I could have worked so much longer to correct his inaccuracies. I never realized what an interesting and difficult face John Barrowman had. Quite the challenge. Either way, I got close enough that I was satisfied.

The Doctor

I continued my studies a little later this night, and chose to move on to a character from my favorite TV show, Dr. Who. Who better to start with than the Doctor himself?
Here is my Tenth Doctor:

I chose this specific reference of David Tennant because he looks completely uninterested with anything; a very rare look for the Doctor. In fact, as the Doctor, I don't think I've ever seen this face. Either way, I had to draw it. This one took an hour and fifteen.

Sherlock

I was planning on making these studies a one-a-day deal, but I apparently couldn't stop myself today. Good art vibes~
Anyway, here's Sherlock, like I promised:

Rather than going for a regular Robert Downey Jr. reference, I chose this shot from Sherlock in order to work on his profile. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to draw his spectacles as well...
This one took almost exactly an hour.

Break Studies - Watson

Happy belated Christmas! I know I've been enjoying my holiday celebrations - friends, food, gifts and all that jazz. Oddly enough, right now I'm most excited for my break from my normal work routine because I get to work on art! During this week I'll be focusing on male facial studies (possibly forms as well) by doing ~1 hour speed paintings. Here's my first one:

I started with Jude Law because I recently went to the new Sherlock Holmes movie - which I loved, btw -and figured it was appropriate to start here. Robert-Downey Jr. will probably show up soon. I hit an hour and ten before I could put this one down, although there are still a myriad of problems I'd like to fix.

Dresden

I'm not sure how popular the Dresden Files are, but I started reading them a few months ago, and had been plenty aware of them for a year or two before hand. I adore these books. I finished the fourth book earlier this month, and what an ending it had! I look forward to continuing the story.
Here's a quick speed painting of Harry from the TV series:

I can't remember just how long I spent on this one, but I know it wasn't terribly long. I used a ref, and even so, his lips were troublesome.

Horns

This post is all about ram horns. It'd be pointless to explain why I decided to devote an entire sketch session to things with horns, because I don't even know. Either way, enjoy:

I like the top left weird deer and the bottom right derpy antelope the most. These were all done in photoshop.

Lace and Stones

Not much to say about this one - it was a little sketch I did last weekend just to play around with some intricacies of the veil. I have a few other random sketches to post, so here's hoping I don't forget with all the holiday/work rushing that's already started.
